What I got from ICT in Biology?

First of all, thank you to Prof Madya Dr Sopia and Cik Siti Shamsiah because all of their efforts, all of us can finished this subject succefully with a lot of knowledge. Besides, thank you to En Al Junaidi because he also geve his all effort to teach us about bog, campstudio and picasa. Thanks to all of you!

Sincerely, in this subject, many new knowledge that I was got and all of them are very important for me as a future teacher who will need to face the IT era. With all the knowledge, I got some confidency to become a future teacher who will need to face the students who are very advance in handle ICT. I'm also very sure that all of my friends also have the same view like me.

First, we learnt on how to handle Interactive White Board (IWB) which is the alternative instrument to be use in the class during teaching and learning process. By using this IWB, a teacher will explain more deeper about the knowledge that he/ she want to deliver. He/ she can use the application that already be there to make the students understand more. So, the teaching and learning process will become more effective compared to the usual way.

Then, we further our lesson with e-portfolio. Everybody need to create their own e-portfolio with their own creativity. By doing this e-portfolio, we can share our knowledge with the other people either we know them or not. So, by doing this activity, I gain many new knowledge about Biology and also ICT. It also my first experience in doing my own blog. For me, as a future teacher, we must to have our own e-portfolio because we will deliver our knowledge indirectly to the other persons. It also shows our identity to the other especially in education.

We also learn how to edit the picture, make the video and others by using picasa. This is the alternative application that we will use if we need to edit the picture besides using adobe photoshop, adobe ilustrator and other. From this lesson, we got the knowledge on how to edit the picture which has some problem especially during teaching and learning process. If there are some problem with the picture that we choose, it maybe will cause the misconception among the students.

Next, we learnt about data logging. We did this activity by doing the fermentation experiment with the aid of temperature sensor and dissolve oxygen sensor. Based on this activity, we realize how technology will help people especially I education. Our experiment easy to handle beside we also got the accurate reading. If we use the common way, maybe there are some ralat and it will affect the result.

The last activity which is simulation and modeling . as usual, we need to present our simulation and modeling. By using this two application, the teaching and learning process become more interesting and effectively. This is because, student will more interest with the animation that use during simulation and modeling and they will be more understand. So, this application is very important by the teacher in order to ensure their teaching process become more effective.

As a conclusion, from what we have done in the class during the whole semester, ICT play important role in the education. As a future teacher, I realize that we must to be prepare with the knowledge about ICT because it is very important in our life as a teacher.
